True to the motto "different is often better", our managers came up with an idea and decided to tell a fairy tale instead of boring people with facts and figures (ZDF - ZahlenDatenFakten). This hasn't been seen before - and it could have gone badly wrong. "We thought that anyone who wants facts and figures can just ask us after the pitch. People remember stories," Frank explained in his reasoning. He was proven right.
SMARTCHILLI is the audience favorite at the ERCIS Launchpad and wins the Münsterland SME Award.
The first part began with a 7-minute pitch behind closed doors to a jury. Here, "Best Overall Concept", "Münsterland SME Award", and the award for "Scientific Foundation" were given.
The highly-qualified jury, including Christopher Huesmann (Flaschenpost) and Titus Dittmann (Titus), asked intelligent follow-up questions on topics such as bogus self-employment (No, we don't see any problems there because we don't interfere with employment relationships), data protection (better than paper any day, data in Europe and employees are not permanently recorded, but only at points where the employer has a predominant interest in recording the location), and competition (imitators should have a hard time).

In the evening, things got really exciting again. A 5-minute live pitch on YouTube in front of 350 spectators who could ask questions in the chat. Not entirely without incident, but always friendly. In the end, SMARTCHILLI won the audience award. We are particularly pleased about this, given the strong competitors. Time tracking is not exactly a dream topic to pitch :-). You can find the award ceremony with quite relieved managing directors starting at 1:57:00. The icing on the cake was winning the "Münsterland SME Award". We are particularly pleased about this because SMARTCHILLI aims to solve the issue of time tracking affordably, quickly, and definitively, especially for SMEs and micro-enterprises. - And even more. But more on that later. A thoroughly successful evening. Many thanks to the ERCIS Launchpad team, who organized a top-class event in difficult times.
